The Family Health Clinic
Clinique de la Santé Familiale

The Family Health Clinic was founded in 1995 to offer a choice to those wishing to control their fertility. It is located in the center of the busy market place of Fond des Blancs and is open twice a week.

Currently, some 310 women are coming for consultation and planning services as they begin to make the connection between poverty and family size. Clients are greeted warmly, given a choice of medication, and are educated in methods of pregnancy prevention.

The clinic also works to educate clients about the importance of protecting oneself from sexually transmitted diseases. It offers films on Aids prevention, and community seminars educating people about HIV/AIDS.
