Started in 1998, the Education Initiative seeks to provide tuition assistance to the children of Fond des Blancs. Education is the best hope for Haiti's young people. Without it they are doomed to a life without work and prospects of any kind. Although the fees are very low, the cost of tuition, uniforms and school supplies are beyond the reach of most parents.

Today, some 210 children, who could not otherwise go to school, receive tuition assistance to attend elementary and secondary school. Each scholarship includes tuition, uniform and shoes, and a hot meal, which for many is the only meal of the day.
